Vision
Vision
A place where people can get in touch with who God is and
who they are, and we help one another live it out.
We want a place where we can come together
in a safe space to dialogue about faith and life.
We desire spiritual parents and grandparents coming alongside
the younger generations and little children, as we find ways to serve,
bless and encourage one another across generational lines.
We value identity and inclusion in the life of the Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit; and mission and service flow out of that awareness.
We see a place where all of us matter, are welcomed,
and seen, regardless of where we are on our journey.
Coastlands began with a group of people praying, talking, and listening to what Jesus is doing on the Central Coast. We held our first Sunday morning service on Sunday, January 8, 2012. Cody and Michelle Busick developed Coastlands from an intimate group of passionate people meeting in a home to a larger yet still intimate and welcoming group of passionate people meeting in an elementary school auditorium.
In March of 2014, Cody and his family felt called to pastor a church in southern California. In July of 2014, Chris and Sarah Failla, who had recently moved back to California after serving as missionaries in China, were ordained as the new pastors. After 7 years of filling the community with rich intimacy, Chris and Sarah were called into a new missionary field seeking to offer that same fullness to servants in the job sector.
As of July 2022, Coastlands has been community lead. A Transition Team was appointed to meet Coastlands weekly needs and to join the Board of Directors in the slow process of unveiling the new direction that the Holy Spirit has in store for Coastlands Vineyard Church. In this process we trust that Jesus is leading us toward deeper love and connection with Him and each other.
Throughout Coastlands' journey, we have remained committed to being a genuine, participatory, Kingdom-focused community of people.
Our first priorities are to ENCOUNTER God the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, and to be encountered by Them. We desire these encounters individually and collectively, on Sundays and throughout the week.
We EXPERIENCE community in a warm, friendly, vulnerable environment. We believe experiencing community reveals some of the deepest truths about who we are and who God is.
We ENCOURAGE one another in our identities, in our daily walks with God, and in our Kingdom adventures, whether they are 9-5 jobs or specific ministry projects.

WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW
As of July 2022, Coastlands has been community lead, recognizing that the body is strongest when everyone’s gifts are encouraged. The Board appointed a Transition Team to meet Coastlands weekly needs for gathering and to participate in working out the church’s future that the Spirit is leading us toward. Our repeated prayer for directing the church has been rooted in Acts 15:28, that each step we take as a family would seem good not only to us, but first to the Holy Spirit.
